Today we went for the boys yearly check-up...yes, I know, a little late, right?! Any who, they are both doing great and growing like weeds!

Dawson
Weight: 43 lbs
Height: 41 inches

Needless to say, he was no where near the growth chart. Sweet boy has always been off the charts. : )

Camp
Weight: 58 lbs (93.3% for age)
Height: 47.25 (78% for age)

We like to grow them big! ; )

And just for kicks we threw in Emma Claire's stats...

Emma Claire
Weight: 61 lbs (34% for age)
Height: 51 inches (34% for age)

Dawson's Growth Spurt!

We had a quick doctors visit this week to check Dawson's ears and were blown away with how much of a growth spurt he has had over the last 4 weeks!

He doesn't look like he is that big to me but it just be because he is so tall it make him well proportioned. : )

Double Ear Infections

I took my sweet boy, Dawson, to the doctor today because he just hasn't been himself all week. He never ran a fever but I just knew he was off. Turns out he had double ear infections. Boo! Poor guy.

I feel like such a bad mom. This is the second time this has happened with him. He just isn't one to run fever which is always your clue.

He did get some good meds and weighed in at a whooping 25 lbs and 13 oz at 13 months. : )

Boys Yearly Check-Ups

I took the boys to the doctor yesterday for their yearly check-ups and got great reviews! They are both perfectly healthy and growing like weeds. : )

Dawson's 1 Year Stats:
Height: 32.5 inches (99%)
Weight: 24.1 pounds (85%)
Head Circ.: 47.6 cm (85%)


Camp's 4 Year Stats:
Height: 41 inches (70%)
Weight: 40 pounds (75%)


Bless the poor nurses hearts because all THREE of them got shots. I called in reinforcements and Benjamin went w/ me to help w/ the chaos.

Emma Claire cried from the moment we told her she was getting a simple flu shot, but the boys didn't know what was coming until it was time. Camp got 3 shots w/ the flu mist and Dawson got 4 shots (2 in each thigh). Afterwards we recovered w/ milkshakes and unwinding at home.

We had a great 9 month check-up! Dawson's stats are:

I took Dawson in for a check-up today and he weighed 21 lbs 12 oz. He's growing like a weed!

Emma Claire/Dawson Check-Up's

Today we went for Emma Claire's 6 year check-up and Dawson's 4 month check-up. We got to see our wonderful friend and doctor, Dr. Dirk. He said that both kiddos were doing wonderful and growing by leaps and bounds. Here were their stats:

Emma Claire
Weight: 45 lbs, 51% for her age
Height: 44.75 inches, 39% for her age

Dawson
Weight: 18 lbs, 89% for his age
Height: 27.5 inches, 97% for his age
Head Circ: 43 cm, 85% for his age

We have one that is petite for her age and one that is almost off the charts for his age. ; ) I think we are going to have some big boys in our family!

I guess we won't have to worry about any boyfriends Emma Claire brings home because her brothers will be able to take care of them real quick. : )

On a side note, Dawson was scheduled to get shots today and Emma Claire can't stand to watch her brothers get shots. She actually cries more than they do. So sweet Dr. Dirk said she could go with him while he got the shots so he took her out to his station and let her play with his iPhone while the nurse gave Dawson his shots. Love him.

Dawson did wonderful with his shots. The nurse popped all 3 of them in and he took a deep breathe to cry, but as soon as I picked him up he just turned and starred at the nurse and gave her the 'what in the world did you do that for look.' ; 0

So thankful that everyone was healthy and hopefully we won't have to go back until our next check-up!

Dawson's 2 Month Check-Up

Today I took Dawson for his 2 month check-up even though he is already 12 weeks old. Because of sickness and the holidays they had to push our appointment out so I'm hoping it doesn't mess his shot schedule up too much. : /

We received a great report. He is a BIG healthy boy! : ) Here are the stats...

Height: 25.25 inches, 90th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz, 85th percentile
Head Circ: 41.25 cm, 80th percentile

Wow. I can't believe how fast he is growing! Let's compare his stats to Camp's....

Camp @ 9 Weeks             Dawson @ 12 Weeks

Weight: 13 lbs 10 oz             Weight: 15 lbs 12 oz

Dawson did have an extra 3 weeks on his stats but Camp also had almost a 2 lb lead on him when he was born.  Looks like we might have 2 linemen for Alabama!

Dr. Rule said he was doing great. His reflux is still controlled with the meds and he is growing like a weed.

The only negative from today's visit....1 oral vaccine and 3 shots. Boo! I think my sweet boy did better than I did. He let out a big squeal when he got the shots but as soon as I picked him up he didn't make a peep and was fast asleep on my shoulder in less than 5 minutes. Good job buddy!

His weight was with clothes on mind you but the doctor said that would only change things a couple ounces.

Dawson's 4 Week Check-Up

Can you believe this boy is ONE MONTH OLD!?

Where has the time gone. Please, please slow down.

On Tuesday I took Dawson to his 4 week check-up. I was expecting him to be somewhere around 9 lbs but boy was I thrown for a loop when they told me he was already 10 POUNDS! Which meant he had gained almost 2 lbs in two weeks. Oh my, I think we are going to have another big boy!

We did learn a couple things from this visit:

1. Dawson has thrush. For him it's not too terrible but because I'm breastfeeding it's excruciating for me. I have never experienced anything so horrible. A few times I have honestly felt like I've reached the point of passing out when I nurse. Everything I've read says it can hang around for a month or so, so lets just pray it evacuates soon! 
2. Dawson still looked a tad bit jaundice so Dr. Rule wanted to send us over to Rex to have blood work drawn. She wasn't too concerned but just wanted to make sure everything was working properly and that our sweet boy was okay. *We went that afternoon to have the blood work done and everything came out fine. His level was at an appropriate lever and our sweet boy was just fine!
3. Dawson has a big head. His head was measuring quite large for where it should be so she wants to see us back in two weeks to make sure it hasn't grown any larger. It measured a little over 38 centimeters, however, Camp's head measured at 39.9 centimeters at his 4 week visit. I'm thinking we're okay but we'll go back just to make sure.

Can I just say what a good baby Dawson is. He is so much more 'chill' than my other two babies were. We are enjoying him SO MUCH. Love this boy!
