Anniversary Trip to New York City

Mommy & Daddy went to New York for their 5 Year Anniversary. 12/18/2009

We went to Radio City to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular by the Rockettes.

Left: The inside of Macy's was beautiful! The store is so big it's a whole city block. It has 8 floors, 3 Starbucks, McDonalds, Auntie Anns, and several other Restaurants. It was crazy. Right: Macy's still had some of the old wooden escalators.

Camp is Growing!!

Camp is growing by leaps and bounds! Not only in weight ; ) but also in skills. Here are a couple of the milestones he has reached the last couple of weeks.


*11/22/2009 – Camp has started reaching for toys!!! He has a giraffe hanging from his car seat and he has began reaching up and hitting it with his hand making the bell in it ring.

*11/28/2009 - Camp has started sleeping through the night! For the last couple of weeks he was waking up once to feed between 2:00am & 4:00am but now he is sleeping from 9 or 9:30pm until between 6 & 7:00am. Yea, Camp!! And, yea for Mommy & Daddy! : 0

*11/31/2009 – Camp smiles ALL the time. All you have to do is look at him and he starts smiling. He is such a happy baby. Today he started laughing out loud at Mommy when she made funny noises at him.

*12/1/2009 – At 2 months, 1 week, and 3 days Camp rolled over from his tummy to back! We had laid him in the floor in the living room to give him some much needed tummy time and he just rolled right over. Guess he showed us exactly what he wanted to do! : )

*12/12/2009 – Camp’s Smile and Laugh will make you melt! Today he really started getting tickled at Daddy. It wasn’t just one chuckle but a continuous laugh.

Emma Claire's Christmas Program at LLLC

This year for the Christmas Musical at Little Lambs Emma Claire was asked to sing a duet with another two year old in her class, Elijah Goodwin. In the program the 4 and 5 year olds were portraying the birth of Christ and the 2 and 3 year olds were singing several Christmas songs. Emma Claire and Elijah were to sing “Jesus Loves Me”, another 3 year old sang “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”, and a 3 year old sang” Away In A Manger”. We spent several days at home practicing singing and holding our play microphone. All you had to say was Emma Claire lets practice our song and up came her hand in a microphone position. I was really up in the air about whether she would sing or not. Sometimes she is a ham and other times she is very shy.
About a week before the program her teachers were trying to get in as much practice with them as they could. One day before we were going to start chapel they got Emma Claire and Elijah up on the stage to sing. They did a great job singing but Emma Claire sang the whole time with her shirt up over her head! We definitely had to have a talk about modesty. : )

Then a couple days before the program Mrs. Nikki, the music teacher, wanted to give it a shot to see what they would do. The 4 and 5 year olds were going to share their program with the Senior Adults of the church so Mrs. Nikki thought she would have Elijah and Emma Claire come in and sing their song too. They came in looking so cute dressed up in their Angel Costumes and didn’t seem like the crowd bothered them a bit. Mrs. Nikki had them stand up in chairs so that everyone could see them and then had each of them introduce themselves. She said, “And what is your name little lady?” and Emma Claire so sweetly said, “Emma Claire,” with a sweet southern drawl. Mrs. Nikki then started them singing “Jesus Loves Me”. Emma Claire had brought her microphone from home that she had been practicing with all week and seemed to be just fine with it. Mrs. Nikki was holding the real microphone for them both to sing into but Emma Claire was so intent to sing into her own microphone. Mrs. Nikki would say, “Emma Claire, sing into this one,” and Emma Claire would just wave her arm at her and point to hers. It was like she was saying, “No. I’m good.”

Let me just tell you she melted my butter that day! She and Elijah were so sweet singing together! After they were done they ran down the hall to their teachers yelling, “We Did It! We Did It!”

A couple days later we had the real Christmas Program at school and it was a different story. The big sanctuary was almost completely full and Emma Claire was quite intimidated. She spent most of the program working on her halo because she just couldn’t seem to get it situated on her head the way she wanted it. Then when it came time for her to get up and sing she didn’t want to have anything to do with it. She began to cry that she wanted her mommy! She knew that I was on the stage somewhere because I was up there helping with my class. Once the program was over and I could get to her she hid in my neck and said, “Mommy, I will sing when they all go home, okay?” I felt so bad for her. I can only imagine how intimidating it was for her to get up on that big stage in front of all those people at 2 years old. I told her how proud I was of her and how great she did being on stage with her friends. She had already done a wonderful job singing earlier that week.
