Emma Claire's 6th Birthday Party

Last year for Emma Claire's 5th birthday we went all out with having Snow White come and do makeovers. This year we decided to keep it simple and have a couple of friends over for a fun slumber party! I know, crazy, right?!

Thanks so much to RaRa we were able to get some fun decor and activities for them to do at the a party. I would never be able to pull all this together by myself. : )

Do you think the birthday girl was excited?!  She could.not. wait for her friends to come over.

We started with our pajama and pizza party right off the bat. Some of these girls can put away some pizza! : )

Time for a group picture!! Thank you, Bro. Jim, for always instilling in me that we should always have one serious picture and one funny one. ; )

Bottom Right: I could.not. have done this party without the help of my good friend, Emillie. She came for the party, spent the night, and then helped me get my house ready for my showing the next day. True.Friend.

What's a pajama party without dancing?! We had a little Wii dance PaRtY!

And there is always room for dessert! Emma Claire chose to have a Hello Kitty party with chocolate cupcakes with pink/white icing. Thank you Harris Teeter! You did a fabulous job.

Here's a video of everyone singing Happy Birthday!

More dancing...

Present Time...These girls (moms) were so gracious with their gift giving. She got some WONDERFUL gifts.

After we finished up opening presents, at Emma Claire request, we went outside to hit the pinata! I'm not sure what her fascination is with pinatas but she LOVES them. She thinks you can't have a party without one.

Bottom Right: One of her classmates, Molly.

For whatever reason I didn't get any pictures of them doing their crafts we had planned but they were very cute. There is a picture below of the finished product.

After the girls who weren't spending the night headed home we settled in for a movie to unwind from all the fun we had.

After about 30 minutes I turned their movie off and told them they had to go to sleep. I really didn't think this would be that simple. I figured I would hear hours of giggling, but I didn't. To my surprise they were all asleep in about 20 minutes! Whew.

Here were their party favors to take home...

The girls were so proud of themselves for staying all night! Once they had their donuts for breakfast it didn't take them long to have her presents open and to start crafting.

Emma Claire's 6th Birthday Party = SUCCESS.

We had such a wonderful time celebrating our girl. I think laid back parties like this are the best! ; 0

Daddy's Valentine

Daddy had to work late on Valentine's so we left him a surprise on his desk and dinner in the refrigerator while he was teaching a class. : )

Daddy Daughter Dance 2013

Today was the long awaited day! Emma Claire has been waiting since last year for her chance to go to another Daddy Daughter Dance!

Of course, we go all out!

First there was hair and make-up time...
(She thought she was going to wear all this fun jewelry. ; )

Next came the DRESS!

In the fall we went to watch our friend Brooklyn in her homecoming parade and ever since then Emma Claire has wanted a dress that looked just like hers. We have been seeing a dress that looked a lot like it at Kohl's for a couple months now and every time we go she has a fit for it. However, it had a price tag of $54! I think NOT.

A few days before the dance I was scoping out Kohl's website to see if they had any cute dresses that we might get her for the dance. And guess what?!? I saw this dress! It was marked 70% off online and said they had a limited quantity in store. So the next day I headed over to Kohl's not very optimistic that I would find it. As I walked over to the clearance section I SAW IT! It was the ONLY one in the store and it was IN HER EXACT SIZE! FOR 70% OFF!!! And after another coupon I got this dress for about $12! I was one happy momma and she was one thrilled girl!

She wanted to have a picture with her brother. Him, not so much! ; )

Daddy and his Date!

Can you tell that this girl likes to have her picture taken?

They had such a WONDERFUL time. First they went to a dinner, then to the dance and then to McDonald's for coffee and ice cream. This momma was already in the bed when they got home. ; )

So thankful that these two get to make memories like this!

English Tea Room

While Poppa & GG were in town just us girls (plus Dawson) went to the English Tea Room to celebrate Emma Claire & GG's birthday.

It was right up Emma Claire's alley! She had the best time and I have to say the food was wonderful. Everything I ate was great.

As you walk in they have all types of fun hats for you to wear, gloves, and jewelry. Emma Claire already came decked out so GG and I grabbed our hats to wear for lunch.

Just looking at this salad makes me drool. It was delish.

Fun memories made.

Art Show 2012-2013

The kids were so excited to get upstairs and show me their best artwork they had done at school this year.
The first stop was Camp's table...

He was so proud of his polar bear, penguin, camp-fire hand and apple!

Next was Emma Claire's turn...

You can see behind her the picture of herself she made, her ice cream, clown and sign!

Camp could.not.get.enough of the Discovery and Music table displays. (Who left out the cymbals?!?)

Here are my astronauts!

You get what you get...and don't throw a fit...when trying to get a good picture with kids! ; 0
