Model Pictures

Look at these fun pics a friend of mine took of Emma Claire! Her mom started making these hats and wanted to have some kids model them for her website. Adorable!

Camp's 2 Year Check-Up

Today at Camp's 2 year check-up these were the results...

Height: 34 inches (50 percentile)
Weight: 33 pounds (85 percentile)
Head Circ.: 50 cm (75 percentile)

Doctor Dirk said that Camp was doing fabulous and looked great!

The only concern that he had was that Camp is a little behind on his speech. We will be having a speech evaluation next week to see if there is any reason that he should have speech therapy. If not, we will go on as usual and see if we can get Sissy to stop talking so much so that Camp can do more talking. : )

Camp's 2nd Birthday

I can't believe my little man turns two today! Where has the time gone?!

Here is an edible arrangement that RaRa got for Camp and I to share for our birthdays. It was soooo good! Fruit covered with chocolate and peanut butter. Yum, yum!

This was Camp's face when he bit into it and realized it was chocolate! Do you think he was a little excited!?

This little boy is so rotten! Just look at that face. : ) Love him so much! Happy Birthday, little man!

Emma Claire had a school project this weekend to make a place mat to use at lunch each day. Here is the one we made together.

She also thought she should make one for daddy to use at lunch too!

Emma Claire's New Bed

So this is what I've been up to this week! We have been talking about moving Emma Claire into a twin sized bed but we hadn't made the big move yet. Last week a friend of ours was getting married and getting rid of some furniture so he decided to give Emma Claire his bed, mattress, and box springs. How exciting! Emma Claire was beside herself when they brought it over. The only problem was that the headboard was black.

So, I took on a little project. : )

First, 2 days of stripping and scrapping all of the thickly coated black paint off.

Next, sanding and scrubbing until both of my arms nearly fell off.

Then, finally getting to add the first coat of stain....

After a week of work finally it was DONE and I LOVE it!!!

Isn't it beautiful!? Now that she has a new room why not change up the decorations, too, huh? Emma Claire has had the same decorations in her room since she was born. I think she deserves it!  Pictures to come soon!

Emma Claire Stories

Two cute stories from Emma Claire's teacher:

*Ms. Starla came in my office the other day and said she was so sorry to hear about Emma Claire's allergy to sharks. Apparently during circle time they were going around telling everyone if they had any allergies and when it was Emma Claire's turn she informed them that she was allergic to sharks. I guess that could be a very serious life or death allergy!

*Yesterday Starla came in my office and said Emma Claire just stuck her fist up in the air and proclaimed to the class that "we must tell people about Jesus! But first we have to get shots before we can tell them." They had no clue what she meant but when they came to tell me I knew exactly what she was talking about. The other day Emma Claire was in the office with me and saw that Eva, the LLLC director, had band aides on both of her arms. Emma Claire asked her what they were for and she said she was going to another country to tell people about Jesus but before she could go she had to get shots so she wouldn't get sick. Emma Claire took that as she had to get shots before she could tell people about Jesus. This girl forgets NOTHING.

This is how Emma Claire wore her socks all day at school yesterday. She said her legs got cold on the playground in this 90 degree weather.

First Day of School 2011/2012

Everyone in our house was really excited to get back into the routine of school. Both kids got up ready to go!

The day before we decided to make some last minute gifts for their teachers and they turned out so cute! A couple of years ago I bought these coffee mugs at the dollar store with plans of using them for grandparent gifts and just never got around to it. We picked out some cute fabric, hemmed it, and then embroidered their teachers names on them. We also thought it was only appropriate to fill them with chocolate for them to eat on the first day of school. : )

Getting ready to head in!

Here is a shot of the bags I did for their classes. They will be adding handprint lions on Camp's class bag.

I caught these shots of Camp with his teacher, Ms. Susan.

Around lunch time I could hear Camp all the way down the hall in his classroom laughing to the top of his lungs. I went and peeped into his room to find him playing cars with a friend and having the best time! So I quickly ran back down to the office and grabbed my camera to get a video of this sweetness and did not capture what I expected. I couldn't tell what but something happened and when Camp couldn't get any attention from the teachers he decided to take matters into his own hands. If you listen closely you can hear me gasp and then see him recognize my camera poking around the corner. Click here to watch the video.
Left: After school Mrs. Cindy, Emma Claire's teacher, had this sign hanging outside their door. Right: This is the face I got when I asked her how her first day was!

It was such a great day for both of my babies. Emma Claire seperated so easily and went right into her classroom ready to work. I was afraid she would have a hard time going in and would cling to me when we got to the door. Camp also went right to Ms. Susan and never shed a tear. My fear with him was that he would try to run out the door and down the hall to where my office is, but he hasn't tried so far. : ) Thank you, Lord, for such a wonderful first day!
