Today was Science Experiment Day

One of their most favorite days of the week for sure! We've been studying Mars so yesterday we built a model of Olympus Mons which is a large volcano located on Mars. In fact, I do believe it's the largest volcano in our solar system!

One of our neighbors, Derek, also joined in on the fun.





See these rocks? Emma Claire said they were Earth Rocks and the only ones we could use because they were just like the ones on planet Mars. ; )



We had to wait 24 hrs for the volcano to set and dry but now we are ready to go!



And...blast off! Can you see their little faces?! They just shrieked when is exploded. Funny thing is we were out of red food coloring so we had one explosion with yellow lava and one with green!





I think the green one turned out pretty cool!

This experiment was definitely a heavy hitter with these two! A win for science today! : )
