Disney Day 2, Animal Kingdom

Can you tell how excited we are for Day 2 at WDW?!?

On Tuesday we spent the entire day at Animal Kingdom. After recommendations from others we booked an early character breakfast at the Tusker House inside the park. Which meant, we got inside the park even before it opened! How cool is that?!

Notice Emma Claire's hair? It looked exactly how they had fixed it the next day even after sleeping on it. Amazing.

The Tusker House was yet another all you can eat buffet. I think I was eating my weight in food that week. ; )

Look who we saw there! Mickey Mouse himself. : )

Of course the kids went straight for the mickey mouse waffles and sweet donuts. ; ) It was vacation, right?!

They loved getting to spend one on one time with each of the characters and they made them feel so special.

I can't say enough about how thoughtful each of the cast members were that we met at Disney. Each person really went out of their way to make the kids feel special. The entire day Emma Claire had her make-over done and the next (because her hair was still perfect ; ) each cast member we walked by would say something like 'hello princess' or 'you look beautiful today princess' or 'hello your highness'. It really spoke volumes to their customer service. They would also always take note of their pins they were wearing. One said '1st Trip to Disney' and the other said 'Celebrating' because we were celebrating kindergarten graduation. They were always quick to strike up conversation and make us feel welcome.

After breakfast we went straight over to ride through the African Safari. After spending the entire day before at Magic Kingdom going to Animal Kingdom the next day was a great choice. It was a much slower pace and gave the kids a chance to relax a bit from the day before.

We told Emma Claire that we hoped that none of the birds thought her hair was a nest and landed in it. : 0

I took this picture for Mom and Jeff Coombs. Check out that termite mound!

This by far was mine and Emma Claire's favorite show at Disney! It was so, so well done and kept us entertained the entire time. Everyone in it did outstanding.

We were one of the first in line so we had outstanding seats eye level to the stage and right next to the runway.

We were so close to the stage that at one point they came running down the stage with Bruce the shark and startled Emma Claire. I happened to have my camera on to catch it!

Love this picture of my girl! She was having a blast. : )

After we left the show, while James and GG went to ride a ride that Emma Claire wasn't quite tall enough for yet, she and her daddy hit up the fair games.

Just look at the joy on her face. Melts my heart. She and her daddy won every competition! 3 for 3!

For Christmas and her birthday RaRa and PePaw had given her Disney gift cards to spend on extra things she wanted to do while we were there. It was perfect because she was very careful to ask for extra things because she knew exactly how much she had to spend. She never once asked us to spend extra money on things which was an extra plus with all the temptations that were around.

One of the things she chose to do was get her face painted. This guy was fantastic.

Big kids can dig for dinosaur bones, too!

Emma Claire made a sand castle with my shoe.

Emma Claire loved dancing in the streets with these sweet ladies. It was right up her alley so we had to stop by twice. They had started dancing at 3pm and when we walked by at 6pm they were still dancing strong. I don't know what vitamins they were taking but I need some!

Left: Getting ready to go see A Bug's Life in 3D!

Right: Another favorite show of ours was Lion King. It was also really well done!

Emma Claire's favorite ride of the day was: Kali River Rapids. It was one of my favorites, too!

Thankfully, I had zip lock bags in my bag because we had to cover James tennis shoes so they wouldn't get wet. : )

Can I just say we got dessert with every meal! Chocolate Mousse is one of my all-time favs. And Emma Claire loved getting to pick a soda instead of water. : )

Here come Emma Claire and I! Of course she and I had to ride it twice.

We got drenched the second time around. : )

Below are all the pictures taken that day by the PhotoPass Cast Members..

Day 2 = SUCCESS!!!
