Princess Clara By: Benjamin

Some weeks ago, just before our final “good nights” I said to Emma Claire, “You can’t grow up, you have to stay Daddy’s little girl.” Her response was not what I expected. I anticipated some version of “I can’t wait to grow up…”, but her demeanor was quite different. As if her destiny hung in the balance, her eyes teared up and lip pooched out, “But I have to grow up and be princess Clara (a character from one of her Barbie movies)…and you have to be the prince.” I’m ok with her thinking of me as her prince. I recall a sign for a little girl’s room that read “I’ve found my prince, his name is Daddy.” I’ll have to get her one of those signs.

July Visit with Poppa, GG, Phillip, & James

On the Thursday night when the Quinn's got here we were at the Rolesville Park celebrating Lana Davis' 4th Birthday.

On Saturday we spent the day at Marbles Children's Museum. All 3 kids had a blast!

After dinner on Friday the kiddos enjoyed some playtime on the slip-n-slide Poppa and GG got for them.

Left: Camp was so dirty from having baked beans for dinner! We decided the water could clean him off. : )

Someone knows Emma Claire very well. Of course we don't have cable so the options of thin, but first thing in the morning she wants to watch Elliot Moose on TV and then Postman Pat is next. Actually a funny story is that for the past two week Elliot Moose for some reason has been in Spanish but she watches it anyway saying, "Mommy, I don't know what they are saying. "

For the 4th of July we went up to Spring Hope to hang out with our friends from Holly Grove. As always Emma Claire had a blast playing with her friends.
