Benjamin's 30th Birthday Party

Even though it was 2 weeks before Benjamin's actual 30th birthday I thought while we were in MS visiting family would be the perfect time to throw him a surprise get together! When I began looking for a place to have it nothing seemed feasible when the majority of the attendees would be kids! I mean what do you do? At a restaurant you can have absolutely no adult conversation because the kids are all over the place.

SO, the best option, Tad's Pizza! For the people not from Corinth, Tad's is kind of like a miniature Chucky Cheese. There are games and inflatables to entertain the kids while the adults are able to sit, relax, and carry on conversation.

Besides, Benjamin is still a kid at heart, right!?!

A special thanks to mom and dad for getting there early to set up the decor for me!

What about those cute letters?! I found the idea on Pinterest and used them as centerpieces for the tables. My dad painted them and I had all the attendees sign their names on them so that Benjamin could take them to work and use them decor for his bookshelves.

At this moment he is saying to me, "Why did you do this? This is soooooo embarrassing."

We had such a wonderful turnout. Friends and family all came together to celebrate his birthday. Even the out of town family drove over!!

My bestie since elementary school!!

Since Benjamin isn't a huge fan of birthday cake we decided to have a dessert spread instead. Check out all these goodies!

A special thanks to mom and Hannah for making them for me!

Happy 30th Birthday, Daddy!!!! We love you!!!!!!

Also, another special thanks to RaRa and GG for helping pay for all the pizza we consumed!

Visit with the Parkers

The Parker's have been our best friends since we moved to Wake Forest for seminary 7 years ago.  However, a few years back the Lord called them to Waco, TX to do PhD work and we have missed them DEARLY.

Because of their daughter, Leah's, heart condition they have been unable to travel and we haven't had the funds to travel out to Texas so we haven't seen each other in person in about 2 1/2 years! It had been way tooooooo long, but neither us nor our kids missed a beat hanging out together. We relaxed, we played, we ate, we relaxed, and we ate, and we relaxed and we ate some more, and so on and so on.....We had such a WONDERFUL time together!

Check out our tech savy kids!

Did I mention that we ate?!?! We ate REALLY good.

Right: Leah & Emma Claire

Left: Camp & Jacob; Right Ross & Katie

These kids had a blast!!!

And so did these! They are such big kids!

We will miss them so much until we are able to see them again, but I'm so thankful for their friendship and how they love us for just being us!
