Sleeping Beauty

This is how I found Emma Claire asleep tonight!

Isn't that hilarious?!?! She often calls us back in her room and asks us to turn off the lights in the living room because they bother her when she is trying to go to sleep. I guess she came up with a remedy! : )

They made these masks in church on Sunday to go along with their Bible lesson about the blind man and she loves to walk around the house with it on trying not to bump into things.

I think I have a wonderful idea of what to get her for her birthday present! : )

Fun at the Dinner Table

Tonight after dinner we spent some time just being silly. Here are two cute videos of Camp playing what he thinks is Hide-N-Seek.

Art Show at LLLC

Friday was Emma Claire and Camp's Art Show at Little Lambs Learning Center. They collect different pieces of their favorite art that they do throughout the year and display at it for everyone to come see. There is really some awesome stuff!

First was Camp's art! His class did a Winter Theme. I am always so impressed with how much they do with these little ones in his class! Camp decided to wear his snowflake he made on his head. : )

Mrs. Emily, Mrs. Lyn, & Mrs. Nichole's 1 Year Old Class

Next stop was Emma Claire's Class! Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Kathy's 3 Year Old Class.

Each craft they do is centered around some type of learning activity. They made this snowman by painting with balloons and the turkey by painting with apples!

Emma Claire also made her pumpkin vine by dipping her knuckles in paint and then onto the paper.

Mrs. Nikki also made different types of musical instrument with the classes for her table and Mrs. Kelli displayed her table with the all the different things they have been learning about space in Discovery. You can barely see it, but to the bottom left of the Discovery table you can see the spaceship Mrs. Kelli made for the kids to blast off in! : )

We are so thankful for Little Lambs Learning Center and Bay Leaf Baptist Church. They have invested so much of their time in our children each day.

Clone of a Cinnabon

This is one of our all time favorite bread machine recipes! We just can't eat the canned cinnamon rolls anymore after trying these. Whenever we have company come up we make a batch to share with them! Here is the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup margarine, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  •
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  •
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.
  2. After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Roll dough into a 16x21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  4. She was caught!!! As I was snapping the picture she licked her finger and stuck it right in the cinnamon sugar. Such a funny picture.
Crazy enough, I use dental floss to cut the cinnamon rolls evenly. It works great and there is NO mess!
    4. Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.
These are one of the best things you will ever put in your mouth.  I like to assemble them at night, put them in the fridge, and then pop them right in the oven the next morning.

    Saturday Fun

Yesterday while Daddy was out of town we had to get creative in our playing. Emma Claire asked if she could get her tent out that she got for Christmas and make a fort in the living room. She and Camp had a blast playing together and crawling through the tunnel.

Then we broke out the bubble bath and they spent time pretending they were different people from Santa Clause to Moses. Emma Claire thought this was great and kept saying "Mommy take my picture, take my picture!".
