Neighborhood Watch Program

The kids were thrilled when these sweet pups were found loose in our neighborhood and needed to hang out with us until their owners got home.  It definitely gave some excitement to their day!

Trick-Or-Treating 2015

Being Cleopatra this year called for a fancy hairstyle! She was thrilled that we got to spend all this time on her hair. We are usually in such a hurry to get wherever we are going that we don't get to spend as much time. I think it turned out beautiful!

This year I was escorted around the neighborhood by a Ninja, Captain America, and Cleopatra!

I think they're pretty cute!

Hands down we have the BEST neighborhood! Everyone really goes all out for Halloween and they really love on all the kids.

The picture on the bottom left is just one example. At several of the houses they would have a children's table with treats, a dog table with doggie treats and then an adult table with adult treats. Pretty incredible!

A few neighbors joined in a for a quick ride in the van to go back and look through all our treats!

Another great year with these 3 amazing kids!!

Germ City

Ya'll! We were at the fair the other day and this blew my mind. There was an exhibit called 'Germ City' which is major yucko, right?! Well, my hubs and I decided to do a little experiment to test our Homemade Thieves Hand Sanitizer. As you walk in they have you rub a fake germ lotion all over your hands and then have you scrub them with soap and water to show you how well you are NOT washing your hands. So my hubby scrubbed his hands really well with soap and water but I opted to use my Thieves Hand Sanitizer instead. The picture on the right are our results! My hands were all clean but his still had traces of germs on them. The point they were making was that your hands would still have germs on them because we don't wash well but Thieves totally threw that out of the park! Needless to say for the rest of the day I confidently kept having them clean their hands after each ride with our hand sanitizer without the worry of the yuckiness on their hands. ‪#‎majorpointsforthievstoday‬ ‪#‎byebyegerms‬ ‪#‎illtakeanextralargebottle‬‪#‎canibatheinitafterthefair‬ ‪#‎mommadontplay‬

State Fair 2015

*Picture Overload Warning*

So there is no question which days of the year are our top favs and the North Carolina State fair ranks at the top!

We save money (& calories) for months in preparation. If we are gonna do the state fair then we are gonna do it RIGHT.

The kids were so excited and even dressed up for the occasion. I'm not sure why but both boys wore ties! I'm sure their sister had something to do with that. ; )

One of the main highlights of the fair is that we always go with some of our best buds, the Lyons. We are 5 years and running!

For the most part fair day is YES day. We go on the days where you can buy the unlimited ride wrist bands and the kids can party their hearts out while we enjoy conversation and all the yummy fair food. It just makes sense.

We normally head to the fair mid-afternoon when the guys can get off work but this year we talked them into taking an ENTIRE day off from work so we could go right when they opened! It was so fun to be able to walk around more freely and not fight the crowds. We were also able to hop on rides quickly and really enjoy ourselves by not rushing around but getting to spend time enjoying each detail the fair had to offer.

I mean who doesn't love to sit and watch a mommy pig and her babies roll in the dirt?! The awes coming from the kids were endless.

It was also fun to enjoy some of the science experiments and crafts they had in some of the event tents. It was a great way for the kids to really use their hands and minds at the fair.

Quick photo-op.

Oh, my heavens! This pumpkin spice funnel cake was the best fair treat I've had to date and that's saying a lot considering we've been going to the fair since we moved here 10 years ago!

Dawson wanted to ride EVERY ride the big kids road. This boy is gonna be trouble as soon as he is tall enough to jump on everything.

The picture below is a reminder of how much Emma Claire loves her baby brother. While she was waiting in line to ride the roller coaster to the right Dawson really wanted to ride this mini coaster that was next to it. So she hopped out of line to go ride it with him while the others were waiting. When she came back they had all already ridden and gotten off so she hopped on and rode it by herself. But, HEY, she got the front seat all to herself! ; )

The Highway Patrol really spent time explaining things to the kids at their exhibit. They had a driving simulation inside a portable building and also had a display of an actual car that a local teen died in while texting and driving. Such a real reminder to ALL of us as they had her name and age printed on the display.

Miss Maggie was caught stealing treats from a passerby. (Not really a passerby...we all knew Mrs. Debbie from SEBTS. ; )

After 11 straight hours at the fair this is what will happen to you! We were all going strong until we sat down in the car! ; )

The next few pictures are out of order because I stole them from Stephanie and Benjamin's phones. ; )

This year we made sure to walk over to the horse stables and see the horses that were competing in the shows. The kids loved it! That's why fairs started so many years ago, right?! Everyone loves the animals!

The kids get to pick one yummy junk food at the fair! You think Emma Claire was excited?!

Sweet Camp picks the same thing every year!

Here's the crew after about 10 hours in. Still going strong! ; )

The kids always love the bungy jump!

Everyone needs a real state fair experience so why not a milk a cow! The kids thought this was the greatest thing EVER.

(Check out how the two pics below look like they go together. So funny. Totally not on purpose.)

They did SO good! Now maybe we could buy a 'skinny' cow (joking!) for some skim milk and they could milk it everyday. I feel like we go through about 3-4 gallons a week!

Cow shows!

Boy did Dawson love riding the rides this year! He hopped on everyone we let him!

I promise Camp was more excited to be there. He just wasn't thrilled about having his picture taken. ; )

We love the kettle corn booth in the pic below! Can you believe it only takes them about 1-2 minutes to fill that large tub in the back?! It pops SO fast. Def one of fav stops.

Can you see Emma Claire's face in the picture on the bottom right. Boy, I sure hope so!!

The kids LOVED the pig races! Certainly a perk of going earlier in the day.

Oh, you KNOW Steph and I got our corn fix! It's the best corn stand at the entire fair!

So here is the crazy part. You remember I said we were there for 11 hours? Well, there are STILL parts of the fair we haven't seen. Ya'll the state fair is huge!

You can bet we are already counting down the days until next year!!
