Mississippi Trip April 2009

Our trip to Mississippi was full of business and fun for Emma Claire. She was so excited to be going to MS and flying on another airplane. She kept telling people "I fly on airpane. It not scare me. I be with Mommy & Daddy." It was so funny because she was so serious about the whole experience. As we boarded the plane it was so funny to see how excited Emma Claire was to get to sit in her own big girl seat. Up until now she has been traveling as an infant so she would just sit in m lap. She got into her seat next to the window and buckled her seatbelt very tight. She was great!!! She has flown so many times that I believe that she is a pro. As the flight began to come to an end I began to explain to Emma Claire that the landing would probably be a little bit bumpy but that she would be fine because she would still be with Mommy and Daddy. I wanted her to be prepared for the rough landing before we got there so she didn't get upset. Of course when we got off the airplane and met RaRa down at the baggage claim the first thing she told her was that the plane was "TOOOO BUMPY"! She still walks around telling people that the airplane she rode was "Toooo Bumpy." It's priceless.
While we were in MS Emma Claire got to do so many fun things. She got to ride the tractor with Poppa and get ear bobs, go to children's choir practice and sing with Mallie Kate and John Rilee, go to Gold Bond and work with Na-Na and Ra-Ra, swing on the porch swing with Grandaddy, eat special cookies with Pops and Gran-Gran, play with her little cousin Branna, eat at all her favorite restaurants ; ) , and the grandest of all... swing on her new swing set that Pe-Paw bought for her. Do you think she got spoiled or WHAT!?!?!

We had such a great time and the fun didn't end there. We had to go back to Nashville and spend the night so our cousin, Chelsey came to visit with us in the hotel. For a treat while Daddy worked Chelsey and I took Emma Claire to the Rainforest Cafe for Dinner. We had so much fun. She was so amazed by all of the animals in the restaurant. She was, however, a little unsure of the the gorillas sitting next to our table. Every time that a "storm" would come through and wake the gorillas up she would jump to quickly get in mine or Chelsey's lap. Even though she was a little unsure about all the noise she LOVED the overall experience. She loved the fish, and monkey's, and hippos. It is defiantly something we will do again.

Now we are home again and trying to get back into the routine of things. Since we have moved into our new home we haven't been able to slow down and enjoy it. That's the plan now stan!!! : )

Emma Claire: Poppa & GG had sooo much fun with you..especially when you and Branna both spent time with us and played together. Both of you are precious to us! We miss you and your Mommy & Daddy since you went back to North Carolina but we will see you again soon! We love you SO BIG!! Poppa & GG

MS Trip April 2009

We dropped by Children's Choir practice to see our cousins, Mallie, John Rilee, & Hayden. Emma Claire decided to join in on practice.

Emma Claire took a trip by to work at Gold Bond with RaRa and NaNa so that Mommy could run some errands.

 Chelsey met us in Nashville and we took Emma Claire to the Rainforest Cafe for a Treat.




The guy came by and made her a balloon animal which was awesome. It was a Monkey hanging on a tree. Amazing.

Emma Claire got interested in Chelsey putting on her make-up and wanted some. She sat perfectly still the whole time for Chelsey to put it on her.

Look how beautiful! She even let her put on Mascara.

It's a BOY!!!!!!

I thought the whole time I was going to have another girl because my pregnancy had been exactly the same as it had with Emma Claire. So you better believe I was shocked when she said that it was a little boy. By looking at the poll I think everyone else thought it was boy or either just wanted a boy. I REALLY wanted to have a little boy too but had just prepared myself for it to be another girl.

The nurse said that he looked very happy and very healthy. She was so sweet and spent lots of time with us. and even printed us some 3D and 4D pictures of our little guy on a CD so that we could have them.

Needless to say we are VERY excited and Benjamin was beside himself. The first thing he said was that he didn't have to get a dog (so he wouldn't be the only boy) and we weren't doing his room in Monkey's (like I had mentioned I would like to do the baby's room in). We will keep you updated and let you know as soon as we make our decision on our little man's name.

A Quick Update of the Past 31 Days

Well, boy have we been busy!!!
We have gotten moved into our new house, Benjamin stared his new promotion, Grandpa & RaRa came to help us get settled, we celebrated Easter, we had friends come in town and stay with us for a visit, and we have had the Stomach Flu going through our house.

I don't think I need to say more. : )

We have had a great time getting settled into our new home, but we have been very busy. I'll try to give a quick update on everything.

Things with our new house moved much more quickly than we had expected. We had been told that all of the government loans that we were getting had been frozen so we had settle that it might be days or weeks before we would get to close and move in. BUT, they called us on a Tuesday and told us that we would be closing on Friday and moving in on Saturday. Boy, was that a shock! I think we had like two boxes packed. We weren't prepared at all. However, God is Good. We had lots of friends and church family come on Saturday and Sunday and help us get all packed and moved into our new home. We are finally settled and loving it!

On the following Wednesday RaRa and Grandpa came in to help us get settled. We were so thankful and they helped us get what would have taken us weeks to get done in just a few days. Not to mention that Emma Claire was thrilled that they were here. We got to celebrate Easter together and take Emma Claire to the Easter Egg Hunt at church. Check out all the pictures I posted.

Benjamin started his new job on April 1st and it has been a very busy time for him. He is now the Director of Student Development at Southeastern. He has had two conferences to oversee and we have a attended a couple dinners at the school. He seems to be doing a wonderful job but please continue to pray for him as he learns his new routine. With more responsibility comes more stress.

This weekend we have had some friends fly in from Montana for a visit and we have all passed the Stomach Flu around. On Thursday where I teach preschool we had 13 teachers out with it, Emma Claire got sent home on Friday, I started throwing up on Friday Night and Emma Claire on Saturday Morning. No fun at all!!

On Tuesday, we will have big news in our house!!! We will be going at 10:00 that morning to find out if we will be having a little boy or a little girl. We are so excited to find out and can't wait to tell everyone. I am very ocd about having names picked out but we have been so busy that I haven't had time to nail down what we will name the new little one. Hopefully, by Tuesday we will know so we can start calling our precious baby by name. Don't forget to vote for what you think the sex will be. : )

We LOVE your new, new house and we had sooooo much fun helping Mommy and Daddy fix it up for you and your little baby BROTHER! We know you will enjoy living there. YEA for Daddy starting his new, new job. You have a wonderful Mommy and Daddy, Emma Cliare! We love you too, VERY MUCH!
