Nosey

He wants to do everything the big kids do!

She Misses Her Brother

Emma Claire sometimes has those moments when she is trying not to cry and you can tell she is doing her best to hold back the tears. Tonight was one of those.

She was sitting at the table eating dinner by herself while I was doing some cleaning when she said "Mommy, it's just not home without Camp here".

He and Benjamin took a weekend trip to Atlanta to see the Braves and Cardinals play and are having a Dude Weekend. :)

She was so sad and so sincere. I quickly told her they would be back tomorrow and he was ready to see her.

Sweet girl is not used to her brother being away from her. She misses her brother! :)

Our NEW HOME

When Benjamin received the faculty position at Southeastern we decided it was time for us to sell our beloved home and move closer in to Wake Forest and Bay Leaf. I was currently driving 30 minutes to work one way and it was killing us on gas.

This was a very difficult decision for us to make. Not because we were so connected to this home but because we were so invested in our neighbors. They had really become like family and loved us and our children so well.

It was a bitter sweet day when we put the sign in our yard.

We had talked about putting it on the market for months but decided to go ahead and take the plunge just two weeks before Dawson was born. As a matter of fact we had our first showing the Friday before I went into labor with him on Saturday.

We love us some Kathy Williams! She has become such a good friend and was so great to us when we bought our first home from her.

After months of looking at every home on the market in our price range, one fallen through offer, and our home being two weeks away from closing and no where to go we finally found OUR HOME.

It was perfect. Not too big, not too small, 14 minutes from Bay Leaf, 14 minutes from Southeastern, an acre of property and was BRAND NEW!

It was being built the entire time we were looking but we never rode out to this subdivision because we thought it was too far out. We never realized what a great location it would be for us. Our original plan was to live close into town, but when looking at homes in our price range with any sizeable yard the homes were just not great and needed too much work. If we went with a better home then we didn't have any yard. So, we decided to expand our search area and I'm so thankful that we did!

Did I mention we were two weeks from closing on our current home? Well, thanks to our lender and wonderful realtor we were able to speed everything up and close on both homes on April 30th. We were able to move straight out of one home and right into the other with no lag time.

We were so thankful for all the wonderful help we had! They worked so hard and we had everything moved out of our current home and into the new one by 2:00pm on Saturday. (April 27th) (Thankfully they allowed us to move into our new home early so we could get the other home cleaned up before closing. : )

We just signed our lives away and got to celebrate over coffee! ; )

What about driving Ms. Daisy in the picture below??? This girl was cracking me. Every family picture we tried to take by the sold sign just got better. Maybe I'll post all of them in sequence later. ; )

We were now the proud owners of Lot 68, on Lavender Lane, in Wake Forest NC.

We have been in the house for 3 months now and are loving life on Lavender Lane.

The name of our new subdivision is Chesleigh and as you can see from the picture below there are several for sale signs on the other lots. On the other side of the neighborhood the homes have been built within the last 10 years so there are several people who have been living there for a while. However, our side of the subdivision is considered Phase 2. When we moved in the only house occupied was the last one on the left. But within' the last week we have had 4 new neighbors move in and another moving in over the next few weeks. It's been great having the street to ourselves but we are looking forward to making some lasting friendships with our new neighbors.

There is plenty of room for the kids to play which we are thrilled about and our property line goes out into the woods so we can do some exploring in the afternoons. : )

Our plan is to eventually put up a private fence but that will have to wait for a day when we've saved up the money. :)

The stairs are steep and there are a lot of them. The only person that hasn't made a tumble down them yet is Camp and I'm sure his day is coming. : )

The Boys Room... (with no wall décor yet : )

Our landing pad at the top of the stairs leads into all of the bedrooms, laundry room, and guest bathroom.

We are so thankful for the Lord's blessing when he allowed us to purchase this home. We are planting our roots here and hope to raise our children in this home.

We pray that our home may be a lighthouse to those around us so that may be able to minister to them in their time of need.

Now that you've seen pictures of it you need to come visit so we can show you in person! : )
