The Month of December

The month of December sure has been a busy one for us.

*December 1st - I started back to work!! With all the sickness going around we decided to keep Camp out of the nursery a little longer. The first week of December he turned 10 weeks so we thought his little body would be a bit stronger to fight off germs and sickness. I was sad to leave Camp in the nursery but super excited to get back into the swing of things and get some adult conversation. : ) My wonderful bosses worked it out so that I get to go down and feed Camp myself at his feeding times which made it even better. I could not ask for a better place to work!

*Christmas Parties, Christmas Parties, Christmas Parties. With the holidays and both of us working it seemed like there were parties every time you turned around. However, it was lots of fun and we always got great food!

*December 8th – Emma Claire sang for the Senior Adults at Bay Leaf Baptist.

*December 11th – Emma Claire’s Christmas Program at Little Lambs.

*Saturday, December 12th we had our Family Christmas before heading to MS. Once again we were blessed with so many wonderful gifts to give to our children because of Bay Leaf Baptist Church. Their toy chest is such an amazing ministry to Seminary Students. You can read more about it in our Christmas Journal.

*December 13, 2009 was the last Sunday of our ministry at Holly Grove Baptist in Spring Hope, NC. We have had a wonderful 4 years there, but we will be leaving to attend North Wake Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC to go through their Church Planting Internship. We are very excited about this new page in our life and the new relationships we will make.

*December 18th was our Anniversary!! We drove down to Mississippi through the night of the 16th to leave our children with the grandparents and Benjamin and I were suppose to leave on the 19th for New York City! Unfortunately, an awful winter storm came through New York with blizzard like conditions delaying us until Monday the 21st. We did get there the 21st and had a wonderful time although we were very busy. It was really beautiful to see it at Christmas and with all the snow. Read our New York Journal for more details on our trip!

*December 23rd – We got back from New York around Lunch and then celebrated Christmas with Benjamin’s Parents that night.

*December 24th – That morning we drove to Alabama to have Christmas with the Hindman Family and then back to MS to have Christmas with the Sample’s Family that night.

*December 25th – Christmas Morning!! We celebrated Christmas morning with PePaw and RaRa and then that night had Christmas with the Bostick Family.

* December 29th – We drove up to Dickson, TN to see our best friends Ross, Katie, Leah, and Jacob Parker. We got to spend the day with them and such a great time! The girls were so glad to see each other and they were so excited to meet Camp!

*December 31st – Our great friends Daniel and Erin Schafers drove down from St. Louis to see us. They have not gotten a chance to see Camp so we were so glad that they were able to get away for a few days to come see us. We also got to ring in the New Year with lots of friends at David and Tammie Ray’s house.

* January 2, 2009 - The great drive back home to North Carolina after spending a wonderful Christmas with family.
