Charleston, SC Vacation

We got to go on a mini vacation to Charleston, SC thanks to a good friend named Robbie Schoals. He opened up his parents retirement home for us to use for a weekend and enjoy a weekend together of relaxation.

Right: We rode the boat to a restaurant called "Charleston Crab Shack'. It was so neat to be able to dock the boat right in front of it and then have lunch out on the deck.

Left: This boy LOVED the boat ride and didn't even mind the pink life jacket.

Right: Looking at the Charleston Harbor.

Everyone konked out on the ride back.

Left: Emma Claire was so excited that Mr. Robbie let her help drive the boat.

Right: Charleston is famous for their She Crab Soup and it is oh, so, good! I must find the recipe.

Walking back from the boat ride you had to walk across the 'swamp' on the boardwalk. Straight ahead is the house we were staying in.

The house we stayed in had a pool with a hot tub attached. We could control the temp so the hot tub side made a perfect kiddie pool.

Left: Getting ready to head to downtown Charleston. Right: The Market in downtown Charleston.

And, yes, we ate lunch, WITH OUR CHILDREN, in a bar. Actually they had great food! Check out the dollar bill in the background that says 'that how I roll'. ; )

Emma Claire loved getting to play in this fountain at the Battery. A friend had already told me about it so we went prepared with a change of clothes. Thanks, Krista!

Playing in Battery Park.

Left: King Street downtown was awesome. Very cute little shops and some brick streets.

Right: There IS a story behind these pictures. When someone says they went to Charleston you just assume they went to Battery Park for which it's known for. However...we went to a park twice thinking it was the 'Battery', but as we were driving away from downtown on the last night we saw the REAL Battery Park.

Right: Before we left Charleston we spent a couple of fun hours in the pool.

A little lunch by the pool.

 So grateful for this place.

Headed back to North Carolina. "Do we have to go?" : ( Emma Claire was so sad to leave. She asked if we could like there at that house. : )

Camp's First Four Teeth

As of today Camp has 4 New Teeth! For weeks, Camp's top two teeth stuck through his gums so far that he looked like he already had four teeth. It looked so painful and we just knew they would pop through any day. However, we did notice the teething phase much more with him than we did with Emma Claire. He seemed to be in quite a bit more pain and more fussy with his new teeth. Here he is about a week before they popped through. You can see them just a bit.

Once they came through they looked so big. They we so much bigger than Emma Claire's small teeth. I guess he is going to have a big smile like Mommy! : )

Here is the sequence of events:

This is one of the best pictures I have gotten of him with all four teeth.

Random August Photos

Left: Benjamin's office staff cookout. Right: The girls thought it was great to climb a tree in our backyard.

The girls came from the back all dressed as princesses.

Left: The two white spots that look like top teeth are NOT teeth yet. Bless his heart you can see the outline of them in his gums. They are so close.

Right: Even though we stayed home all day she thought she needed to put on her 'fancy' dress to match bunny rabbit.

So proud of all his 'new' tricks.

I love how these two have started playing together.
