Spring Baskets

Last night Benjamin flew home from a 10 day trip to Taiwan and the kids and I also flew in from a 7 day trip to Mississippi. Needless to say he was very jet lag and we were exhausted this morning so we stayed home from church to rest. We also didn't have any baskets for the kids for Easter so I ran to the store this morning and grabbed them a couple treats.

We may not have gotten an Easter family picture since we didn't make it to church but I did get one of their spring baskets! :)

Professor Benjamin Quinn

It has been so busy that I haven't had time to blog about a huge blessing in our lives.

As of June 1, 2012, Dr. Akin brought Benjamin on as full-time faculty teaching History of Ideas and Theology for Southeastern. It was such a wonderful blessing and unexpected surprise for us.

You spend the entire time you are in school wondering where the Lord will send you and in most cases searching for an open position. We love the people here at Southeastern and our church so much we are thrilled to be able to plant our lives here more permanently. It's time to set down some roots! ; )

Professor Benjamin has a great office with a wonderful view. It also has tons of bookcases that gave all the hundreds of books in our house a new home. : )

The third floor office with a view..

So thankful for this opportunity in our lives and can't wait to see what else the Lord has in store for us!

*I'll try to add some pictures of the outside of the building and the rest of the campus soon. : )

Memphis Zoo

The only zoo our kids have ever been to is the North Carolina Zoo so I was thrilled when mom and dad asked if we could go spend a day at the Memphis Zoo. The NC Zoo is nice but I love that you can get so much closer to animals in Memphis and there are TONS of animals and things to do there.

The weather turned out to be perfect! A light jacket was all you needed and in the sun it was really warm.

The kids were beside themselves and for the entire first hour they ran everywhere. They couldn't wait to check out all the animals.

Bottom Left: The first set of animals we walked up on were these two huge 'cats' that were fighting. The kids thought it was great! Me, not so much. I'm not so confident in how thick that glass is. : )

Emma Claire kept the map and informed us of every direction we needed to go. : )

This was Camp's highlight of the day. My boy LOVES trains so it wasn't even a question whether we were going to ride or not. : )

The zoo was having a special sting ray exhibit where you were able to go in and actually pet the sting rays and baby sharks as they swam around. At first Emma Claire wasn't so sure if she wanted to stick her hand in the water. Where is daddy when you need him? So...I pushed up my sleeves and in my arm went. Totally out of my zone, but oh well, it made her feel comfortable and she was off from there! The things we do for our kids.

Click Here to watch a video of her petting the sting rays.

Camp was just as happy watching. Not a chance he would put his arm in the water.

Bottom Right: It was feeding time for the pelicans!

Who's that movie star?! ; 0

We were SO close to all the animals.

Here was the highlight of my girls day, riding the camels!

Camp wasn't so sure he wanted to ride until sissy offered to take a ride with him. : )

Click Here to watch a video of them riding the camel.

Bottom Right: This sweet baby was so good all day. I think he really enjoyed getting to ride like a big boy in the stroller!

Not the family picture I was looking for but check out how excited Dawson was. ; )

Thanks so much for the fun day! We all had a blast!!

Small Town

Love seeing these signs in the drive thru. Know I'm in a small southern town. :)

Grocery Shopping

Little buddy fell over asleep in the grocery cart today. Precious.
