Emma Claire's 1st Field Trip

Today I got to go with Emma Claire and her class on a field trip to Amante's Pizza! It was so fun just being her mommy and enjoying watching her delight in her friends and learning something new. When we arrived they had the tables set up for them to 'design' their own chef's hat and apron. This was such a hit for the kids and was a great way to get them involved as soon as we walked in the door.

Bottom Right: This is sweet Mrs. Emily, who is also Camp's teacher, and her twin boys, Dylan & Josh.

Bottome Left: Me and my excellent CHEF! ; Bottom Right: The guy did a great job with the kids and really held their attention. To start making their pizza's he gave them each one big ball of dough.

Next he taught them the best way to mash it out flat.

Then he taught them how to hold their hands the correct way so that they could throw the dough up in the air and spin in out even flatter. (Thanks, Steph, for the awesome mid-air spin shot!)

Click Here to watch Emma Claire learning how to toss the dough.
Click Here to watch her try to toss it.
(I will add the videos once the finish uploading.)

Then they helped spread the sauce on their pizza and add the cheese. Emma Claire was so excited that she got to stick her hands in it and spread it all out!

Bottom Right: I love this picture because it just shows how Emma Claire's personality is. If you look at all the other kids they are ready to move on to something else, but Emma Claire is still working so hard to make sure her pizza is just right. I have walked by her classroom at school several times and seen her still sitting at the table working while her friends are moving on to something else. It's not that she is slow, but that she wants to make sure that everything is done exactly the right way and finished completely. She does not like to walk away from something unless she has completed it and completed it well.

It's ready to go in the oven!

It was such a sweet time to sit and watch Emma Claire enjoy the company of her friends, Liza and Alyssa.

Just look at this yummy pizza Emma Claire made! It was sooooo good.

It was so great to get to share this special day with our buddies, Stephanie and Abby Lyon!

Bottom Left: Emma Claire and her wonderful teachers, Amy & Kathy. ; Bottom Right: After we finished our pizza we had planned to have a picnic at the park, but because of all the yucky rain we decided to walk next door and let the kids see all of the animals at the local pet store.

This was such a great treat for them!

Emma Claire and Alyssa thought it was the greatest things to play with the stuffed dogs in the cages.

We had such a wonderful time on this field trip! So thankful to be Emma Claire's Mommy!

Small Group Fun

Tonight our small group got together and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Wake Forest. It was so good to just relax and hang out with everyone.

I caught our fearless leaders mid-smile. : )

Camp and Emma Claire were SO good during the meal! Right: Sweet friends, Shane & Alicia Shaddix.

Left: Chelle Mason & I; Right: Camp was trying his hardest to get that toothpick out of Benjamin's mouth.

Emma Claire entertained herself by drawing everyone at the table a picture on a napkin!

So thankful for such a wonderful small group and friends! We are so blessed.

Turtle Magazine

Mom subscribe Emma Claire to this cute little 'Turtle' magazine when one of of my cousins school was doing a fundraiser. It was really a good opportunity for me to spend time with Emma Claire to see what homeschooling her might be like. The magazine had all kind of neat activites for children her age which she loved!

It had fun stories we could read together, mazes where she could use problem solving skills, and neat activites you could make with stuff at home.

I even loved that after I read her one of the stories it had her draw something on her own that she liked to do outside. I was SO impressed when I came back to the table to see what she had drawn! She drew herself and flowers because now that it is warm outside she LOVES to go outside and pick flowers. Love it!

She even filled out the card on the inside all by herself writing her own name! Good job, sweet girl!

It also had recipes that you could make together to learn about different things in our environment.

Good choice, RaRa! We loved spending time doing this together. Can't wait till the next one comes in the mail!

Just Because

Sometimes you just take pictures of your kids just because. : )
