Emma Claire, Emma Claire, Emma Claire

  • Friday morning I told Emma Claire to finish getting herself ready for school and then come to the kitchen for breakfast. When she came to the kitchen this is what she looked like!

She was complete with two earrings, one necklace, 5 bracelets, one watch, one ring, and lipstick!

  • Emma Claire has really gotten into drawing pictures and is actually really good. Here is a snowman and airplane that she drew this week:

  • Emma Claire has always had a struggle separating from mommy and from time to time we come up with creative ways to make the transition easier for her. The most recent way of transitioning she came up with on her own. When we get to school Camp goes to his class first and then Emma Claire. On the way to her class she asks me to hold her and she lays on my shoulder and pretends that she is asleep. Then when we get to her class she raises up, gives me a kiss, and then I pass her to Mrs. Kathy 'asleep'. After 'being asleep' in class for a few minutes she then wakes up and is ready to play! Sound crazy, but, hey it works! And that's all that matters! : )
  • Emma Claire LOVES to sing and most of the time she sings to the very top of her lungs. When we ask her to be quiet she always responds with "But, I sing so loud so that God will be so Happy!".
  • When Emma Claire gets excited about something the louder she talks and the more she talks. She especially has a hard time in circle time at school while Mrs. Kathy is trying to tell the Bible story. When she knows the story she has such a hard time controlling her excitement and interrupts Mrs. Kathy to tell the next part. They have to constantly remind her that they are so glad that she knows the story so well, but that it's Mrs. Kathy's turn to talk and Emma Claire's turn to listen. So, the other day on our way to school we talked about how hard we were going to try to use our inside voice and try to earn the Quiet Mouse award during circle time. We even spent the time it took to walk across the parking lot to talk as loud as we could and get the outside voice out of our system. I have to say that it was quite fun and Camp thought that Mommy and Sissy were being hilarious. It seemed to have worked some but during circle time Mrs. Amy said that she kept reminding them how much she wanted that Quiet Mouse award and couldn't seem to contain her excitement over wanting to win. This girl just makes me laugh. BUT, on Thursday she was chosen to be the line leader for the day and she also won the Quiet Mouse award during circle time. I have to say that it was a great, great day at our house!
