Saying Farewell to our Sweet Zeus

Today was a super sad day for the Quinn Family. We had to rehome our sweet Zeus.

He has always been a fantastic dog in the house. He has never touched a thing, is not wild, and loves to lounge on the couch with us. ; )

However, since Zeus came to live with us about a year and a half ago he has never been a fan of other dogs. He barks likes crazy whenever he sees them and tries to run so we have kept him close on a leash.

Unfortunately, he has gotten out twice and bitten our neighbors dog because the kids forget and leave the door open. It's just what kids do at ages 8, 5, & 2. So out of neighbor love we knew what we had to do. We began looking for him a great home were he would be well loved as we have loved him.

It's funny how the Lord works but as some of you know we are in the process of going through licensing to become a foster family. One day while our social worker was here for a home study we mentioned to her that we were looking for him a home. She took great interest in that and said that they not only rehome children but animals, too! ; )

She took all of his information and actually called us the very next day to tell us that someone in the social services office had a great placement for him. Mrs. Laverene, our social worker, came with them when they picked him up and really spent time explaining to our kids that Zeus was going to a good home and was going to be very well taken care of. It meant the world to us and our kids.

The whole process was a great opportunity to demonstrate to our kids neighbor love and also explain how foster care would work with our family. How when the children are in our home we will love them as part of our family and help them be the best they can be. Just like they have done with Zeus. And when it's time for them to move on we will wish them the very best and they will forever be in our hearts.

We will miss our sweet Zeus so very, VERY much but we know that his new family will love him well and he will be so spoiled rotten.

We love you, little buddy. Thank you so much for loving us so well over the last year and a half! You will forever be in our hearts.
