Mommy's Birthday in Myrtle Beach, Day 1

For my birthday this year Benjamin had the opportunity to speak in Myrtle Beach, SC. They told him that they wouldn't be able to pay him to speak but they would be happy to put he and his family up into a hotel for two nights. Yum, YES we will! So off we headed!

First stop was California Dreaming for sure. Stephanie and Larry Lyon recommended this place to us a couple of years ago when we went to Myrtle Beach and we've been going back every time since. Their specialty salad with the hot bacon dressing and a croissant with honey on top is to die for!

Who doesn't love ice cream with a candle on your birthday?! ; )

While waiting on check-in time we made a quick stop by Bass Pro Shop. The kids loved this shooting arcade!

Dawson WILL NOT be outdone. ; )

Now look at this view! I could totally get used to this!

I'm guessing you can tell by the picture that the kids were pretty excited.

The best part?? The kids had their own room! Yes!

One of the members of the church where Benjamin was speaking owned not just this condo but the entire hotel and several others. What a blessing to be able to bless the church in that way by putting up their speakers. It's a win win all the way around!

The kids loved the lazy river but because it was on the roof of the 6th floor and it was in the mid 70's the breeze coming off the ocean made it too cool for this mommy! Even if it was a heated pool. ; )

It would be an awesome perk mid summer though!

Now this is more my speed! Heated indoor pools. ; )

It was pretty incredible that they had pools for all ages. Dawson loved that he got to swim independently!

A birthday treat for me was that I got to run on a treadmill inside while watching tv and over looking the ocean. It was quiet and I got the whole room to myself. Happy birthday to me!

You see that PH? Yup, that is where our room was. It could mean 'people here' but we like to think it means 'pent house'.

It was a great first day in Myrtle Beach!!
