Myrtle Beach Vacation 2012

The kids and I were thrilled when we found out that Daddy would be going back to Myrtle Beach for the Coastal Evangelism Conference! That meant that we got to tag along for a vaca! Every since we went last year Emma Claire has proclaimed that staying at Myrtle Beach in the Staybridge Suites is the best vacation ever! I have to agree it's pretty sweet. They serve a full breakfast every morning and dinner 3 nights a week. We love the layout of their suites because it's big enough for the kids to play, me to cook, and for them to be in a separate room when it's time to go to bed. Another plus is that we can hang out at the pool all day and it is NEVER crowded.

Since we went to Myrtle Beach on our way back from visiting family in Mississippi the kids and I just needed some time to chill and this is how spent it...

This is how I found the kids after just one day spent at the pool!

Any time we are at the pool or the beach Camp spends the ENTIRE time asking for snacks. I always have to be well prepared for my hungry boy!

The kids never meet a stranger!

Every evening the kiddos got to unwind while watching cartoons. Their fav!

Since this was our family vacation we decided that we needed to something a little special for the kids. We found that the local aquarium was having a live mermaid show and also a dinosaur exhibit. Score! Those were Emma Claire's two biggest interest right now! Not to mention the fact that Camp LOVES fish!
The kids were soooo excited to go and couldn't wait to get to see everything!

Emma Claire could not believe that were getting to see real mermaids!

After the show she even got to go meet one of the mermaids which was the highlight of her week! They didn't allow us to take pictures but it is something I will never forget. She was beyond thrilled.

Next we headed over to the dinosaur exhibit.... I can't believe how interested Emma Claire is in them. She can name more of them than I can!

This is how Camp spent the entire time we were looking at the dinosaurs. They were life size moving dinosaurs and lets just say he was not as big of a fan as sissy!

Everyone needs to slide down a sharks tongue. Right?!? (Ugh, this picture just reeks of germs to me!)

Next we headed over to the tunnel where you could see all the fish. This was by far Camp's favorite part!

We had such a wonderful time at the aquarium with our kids! I'm so glad that we took out the time to spend the day doing something that brought such joy to them.

Before we headed home we couldn't leave without spending a day at the beach! Just a side note, we are just as happy at the pool. We love the beach but it's just so messy. ; )

Thank you , daddy, for letting us tag along! We had such a wonderful time and loved getting away as a family. Until next year......

  1. Just reading this post now. Myrtle Beach sounds like such a great place for a family vacation. From the photos it looks like everyone had so much fun. I hope I get a chance to visit someday.
