Tonight we got to take part in a special event for our best friends little girl, Leah Grace. Leah was born with an unhealthy heart and has been on the heart transplant list since March of 2010. We love that little girl and her family so much. They moved from Raleigh in the summer of 2009 for Ross to begin his PhD program at Baylor University in Waco, TX. We miss them so much but know they are in the best place for Leah Grace. Tonight Poplar Springs, the church they served at while they were here, hosted an event called "A Heart for Hope for Leah Grace". They sold tickets to the dinner, had a photographer taking pictures, and took donations in honor of Leah Grace. Before the event started they had already raised a total of $4,000! Amazing.
Ross and Katie got to Skype in for a few minutes and share with everyone what was going on in their lives right now. Emma Claire was so excited to sport her heart shirt for her best buddy, Leah Grace.
(On a side note, you can see in this picture how long her hair is right now.)
At the end of the night the set the computer up in the office so that everyone could spend time chatting with them. Of course Benjamin had to start out our conversation with something funny!
We love the Parker's and hope to be attending many more events like this in honor of Leah Grace!!
